How to recover a lost Zero point on Inovance robot? Will the IR-R series lose zero point when power is cut off?
First, determine whether the zero point is truly lost or a false alarm: after power is cut off and restarted, the teach pendant indicates a position deviation, and the robot only stops after reaching the physical limit, so it's basically a real loss. The IR-S series SCARA and IR-R series six-axis encoders have different configurations. For models that rely on batteries, if the battery voltage is low, or if the motor has been disassembled and the gearbox replaced, the rework must be done at midnight. Recovery involves mechanically aligning each axis with the body's zero position scale and writing the zero values. After marking, the soft limit and interference zone must be re-tested before production, otherwise collisions are likely to occur.
What controllers and reducers does Inovance use for robots? Are the parts easy to find?
Inovance's servo motors, drivers, controllers, gearboxes, and encoders are all self-developed, which is the biggest difference between it and FANUC and ABB—core components are not tied to overseas supply chains. The advantage is that it holds the number one domestic market share in servos, with smooth channels for general servo parts; The problem lies in the robot-specific reducer and main castings, which are not as readily ordered as general-purpose servos. We are not an authorized Inovance agent, but a third-party technical service provider. We follow three routes: dismantling parts, third-party spare parts, and ordering from the original manufacturer.
How to choose between Inovance and FANUC, ABB, or Yaskawa? Can domestic production replace imports?
For general operations such as handling, palletizing, loading and unloading, and general dispensing and locking, the IR-R20 and IR-R50 are sufficient, with procurement costs and local service responsiveness as real advantages. However, in high-beat pick-and-place applications, complex surface grinding, and arc welding where trajectory accuracy and long-term continuous operation are required, imported brands are still more stable, with high residual value in used brands like FANUC and ABB. It is recommended to calculate specifically based on cycle time, repeatability, and annual operating rate, rather than just relying on load tables.
How to choose between Inovance SCARA and six-axle models? What are the specifications of the IR-S series?
For pick-and-place, screw tightening machines, dispensing, and insertion within the plane, prioritize SCARA: IR-S3 (3kg/250mm), IR-S7 (7kg, 500/600/700mm), IR-S10, IR-S20/GS20, IR-S25 (25kg, maximum length 1200mm), accuracy from ±0.01 to ±0.02mm; Common lithium battery module handling methods include IR-S35, IR-S60, and IR-GS60 (35-60kg). Requires flipping and passing around obstacles to install the six-axis IR-R series (10-300kg). For die-casting parts, see IR-R220-2600.
Do Inovance second-hand robots hold their value high? Is a used robot worth buying?
To be honest, the residual value of Inovance used robots is currently lower than FANUC and ABB—domestic robots entered the market late, there are few buyers for second-hand devices, and their circulating prices are kept low. Conversely, buyers are getting a bargain: general-purpose models like the IR-R20 and IR-S10 from three or four years are priced much lower than imported models with the same specifications. When we do second-hand products, we inspect gear reducer gaps, servo encoders, body seals, and cable aging item by item, attaching inspection records. We don't ship without powering on or turning on the lights.
What are the common faults of Inovance robots? Which parts are prone to breaking?
The most common issues encountered on site were: wear on CARA's Z-axis lead screws and splines, resulting in reduced repeatability and abnormal noises during vertical movements; Lithium battery photovoltaic workshops generate high dust; IR-S series protection reaches IP54, and dust enters the body after sealing components age; The six-axis model experiences cable wear and encoder alarms under welding and die-casting conditions; After long-term high-speed operation, the reducer clearance increases. Additionally, it's common for the battery to run out and lose zero points. We conduct both board-level and body-level inspections, with fees determined by the model, fault situation, and maintenance plan. After inspection, we provide a quote.
How is the Inovance U-series collaborative robot? Do you need a safety fence?
The U series includes IR-U4-60S5, U8-850, IR-U13-130S5, and IR-U18-100S5, covering loads from 4 to 18kg, with repeatability of ±0.02mm, official nominal collision offset of 0.08mm, and 25 safety features. Whether to use a fence shouldn't be based solely on specs; you have to consider what is installed at the end. The gripper grips the blank and has a slow beat, but most can be coordinated directly; At the end, the welding gun, tools, or workpiece have sharp edges, which usually fails the risk assessment. This must be done on-site and calculated based on actual working conditions. The service center is in Nanchong, and on-site delivery can be arranged in Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, and Guizhou.
