Regarding the selection, maintenance, parts, and second-hand distribution of Kawasaki equipment, we answered the most frequently asked questions from customers.
How do you recover a lost Kawasaki Robot's Zero Point?
First, check the backup battery voltage of the encoder; if power is lost, the origin abnormality is usually due to the battery. After replacing the battery, go to the origin setting in the teach pendant's auxiliary menu, align each axis with the origin marker (marked lines or pin holes) on the machine body, log in the absolute values for each axis, then turn off the power and restart to verify again. Before starting, export the program and user coordinate system for backup. After reverting, re-check software limits and interference areas, otherwise collisions are very likely.
What are the differences between Kawasaki E-Series and F-Series control cabinets?
The E Series is a universal standard cabinet worldwide, suitable for everything from small machines like RS003N to ultra-large M Series models, making it Kawasaki's universal cabinet. The F series is a new generation evolved from the E-cabinet, featuring faster motion control algorithms and mainly paired with the BXP series. Most compatible cabinets for available models are labeled as "F Series (partial)/E Series," meaning both cabinets of the same model can be used. The hardware and programs of the two are not interchangeable; the cabinet nameplate must be checked before ordering. There is also an explosion-proof E cabinet, dedicated to KJ and KF sprayers.
Is it easy to find Kawasaki robot parts? Is the maintenance cycle long?
To be honest, Kawasaki's presence in the southwest is not as strong as Fanuc and Yaskawa, and its parts channels are not as dense. Consumables like batteries, fans, and fuses are decent, but large items like boards and servo modules often require orders, with longer delivery times than other Japanese brands. Our approach is to first identify the specific faulty part, then decide whether to repair or replace it—if it can be repaired at the board level, we don't wait for orders. The service center is in Nanchong, and on-site testing is available in Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, and Guizhou. The cycle is estimated according to the plan, without just reporting the number of days.
What working conditions are suitable for Kawasaki robots? Which series have advantages?
Kawasaki loads range from 2kg to 1500kg, with a maximum reach of 4005mm. Several distinctive directions: injection molding for part pickup, the RS series has always had a good reputation in this scenario; Palletizing includes CP and RD series, 80-700kg; Automotive interior assembly is a traditional strength; Semiconductor and clean environments include NTJ, TTJ, NTH, NX wafer handlers, compliant with SEMI-F47 and SEMI-S2 standards; The pharmaceutical product has the MC series, which meets ISO Level 5 cleanliness and is compatible with VHP sterilization; Dual-arm collaboration is duAro.
Why are Kawasaki used robots so cheap? Is it worth buying?
Kawasaki used cars usually cost a bit lower than FANUC and Yaskawa in the same load range, mainly because domestic ownership is small and awareness is low. It's not that the machine itself is lacking, but Japanese models have both structure and craftsmanship. Worth buying? Usage: Fixed operations like injection molding for picking up parts and stacking, Kawasaki offers great value for money; But if you expect frequent modifications, vision and bus additions later, the cost of acquiring accessories and data should be factored in in advance. Prices are determined based on equipment model, fault status, and maintenance plan, and a quotation will be issued after inspection.
What are the common types of faults caused by Kawasaki robots?
Relatively concentrated categories: encoder battery depletion causing origin loss; The RS series has long been used for injection-molded parts, resulting in frequent wear on J2 and J3 axis reducers and fatigue breakage in arm wiring harnesses; Aging of synchronous belts and cylinder components in CP and RD palletizers; The seals and pipelines of KF and KJ sprayers that have been operating in explosion-proof zones for extended periods have aged. Another situation isn't hardware failure, but old AS code written in the AS language that no one can understand, and when changing the production line, the original programmer can't be found.
How to choose between Kawasaki and domestic robots (Inovance, Estun)?
It depends on what you're sensitive to. If you're on a tight budget and want the lifespan of Japanese structures, Kawasaki second-hand is a cost-effective option, especially for injection-molded parts pickup and palletizing. If it's a new production line, a fixed cycle, and fast delivery requirements, domestic brands have advantages in procurement costs and service response under the same load, and parts are also cheaper. What really matters is not the brand, but the ongoing maintenance—Kawasaki rarely repairs in the southwest, so before choosing, think carefully about whether the factory can handle it or if there is stable third-party support.
